For the Love of Grandchildren and Silhouettes

To many of my friends it is no secret that I really like french inspired things. It is also no secret that I really like silhouettes. As much as I adore a pretty silhouette, I love my grandchildren even more. My daughters know this too, so I was so excited when they gifted me with silhouettes of all five of my beloved grandchildren. These are way up there among the most favorite things I have ever received. They were designed by two different artists at two separate times at Walt Disney World  in
Orlando, FL.  The bottom two were actually designed by a french artist who was set up at the France Pavilion at Epcot. The top three were actually created by an artist at The Magic Kingdom. These were all created a couple of years ago, so the grands have grown a lot, but it is amazing how they perfectly represent each of the children.

These silhouettes inspired me to make some projects which I'll post about on another day.

Thanks so much for dropping by again! As far as my blog, I've been playing around with some different looks and I settled on this one(at least for a while).I can honestly say at least it is more colorful if nothing more. I copied your instructions on adding the connect icons and am going to try to add those. Your blog is really looking great and your precious children are beautiful!

Hi, Nikki! It is great to meet you too. Thanks for the sweet comments. I am so glad you dropped by. My blog is a baby and so is steadily evolving. I am presently trying to add some "connect" icons so that it won't be so difficult to connect with me on my blog. Jessica at "A Humble Creation" did a great post a couple of days ago on how to do this. I am, admittedly, NOT a whiz when it comes to web design, but I am trying because blogging has been a desire of mine for a long time. I am going over to your blog as soon as I send this. Bless you! Lynn

Thank you Lynn! I hope that tutorial is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.
Love silhouettes - mine are of my girls from Epcot too! I also have my hubs silhouette from when he was a boy. None of me unfortunately!!

Kelly, it is great to hear from you and thanks for leaving a comment. Isn't it amazing how many great things you can discover at Disney World? There is always something new and interesting. I don't know if I mentioned to you before but we have a trip planned to WDW in April and we are so excited about seeing the New Fantasy Land. There will be 13 of us, including our 5 grands and we can hardly wait. A teacher of my in elementary school helped us kids to make silhouettes of ourselves for our parents. I don't know what ever happened to mine but I wish I still had it. There is something so special about them. Have a blessed evening and tomorrow!

Lynn
I just love silhouettes, too! Yours are such a treasure. I have a few photos of my grandson that I am going to attempt to make into silhouettes myself. Wish me luck!
Hugs,
Patti
Oh Lynn! I love the silhouettes of your grandchildren. I still have my son's that was made over 30 years ago. I would love to have silhouettes of my five grandchildren. I know you must cherish these. Hugs, Sherry
ps: I have subscribed to your blog via email.

Patti, it is good to hear from you and I appreciate your sweet comments. I've been a follower of yours for several weeks and it is always a treat when I visit your blog. You make such beautiful posts. I love my grandchildren so much and I really do treasure those silhouettes. I have made a number of projects by using those silhouettes, including 5 throw pillows with removable covers for my 2 daughters(the mothers of my grands). I plan to do a post in the future on how I did those. I hope you will share when you make your grandson's silhouette!

Sherry, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I truly do love silhouettes and especially the ones of my grandchildren. As a grandmother, I am sure you know how special grandchildren are and I feel so very blessed to have them. I threw some pretty strong hints about wanting these silhouettes and was ecstatic when I got them. Thanks again for visiting! Lynn
