Today's post is one in a series of posts about some of the wonderful Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World for 2013.
This post is comprised of some of the photos taken the afternoon we visited Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas. I have posted about Disney's Boardwalk in the past and about the wonderful boardwalk itself, with all its shops and entertainment. It can be found by exiting the Gateway to the World Showcase and taking a left, crossing the bridge at Crescent Lake. There is a world of entertainment and dining experiences to be enjoyed along the boardwalk. It is well worth the leisurely ten minute or so stroll from Epcot to check out the activity at Disney's Boardwalk and in the inn. At Christmastime, it is an extra special treat because of all the fabulous decorations. You will often find some of the characters in the main lobby during the evenings, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, all decked out in their Christmas finery and ready to have their pictures taken with you. We were there in the afternoon and so we did not see them on this day, but we have been there with the grand children to have their pictures taken in the past.
The first sight to greet us when we enter the door is, of course this wonderful miniature carousel, which was featured in a previous post. The horse hooves from the enormous light fixture which hangs in the entrance area can barely be seen above the carousel. Notice all that lush looking, gorgeous garland swagged all the way across, up and down the lobby. Awesome!

You can read more about the history behind this carousel and the gigantic light fixture above it by going to a previous post linked here:

Just beyond the carousel, where the garland is swagged, in the main open area of the lobby, is this beautifully decorated Christmas tree and one of the many gorgeous gingerbread and confectionery creations for which Disney is renowned.

This particular gingerbread house creation is large enough to actually be a working sweet shop. Look closely and you will see there is a lady, dressed in a uniform, actually standing in this shop named Sweet Treats. She later hid behind the door in this shop because she was a little camera shy and said she did not want to spoil the picture. She really did look great in her uniform and apron and was picture perfect.
More pictures as we get closer to the Sweet Treats Shop:
See the menu's on either side of the door, listing the items for sale in the shop? The items are displayed on the counter.
A close up follows of one of the panels at the top area of the shop. Look at all those wonderful edible Mickey Mouse ears. Note how perfect all the lettering is and those corner brackets look so realistic. The wreaths and swags are beautiful as well. They are made from green salt water taffy, strung to form the wreaths. Needless to say the lobby smells simply scrumptious!
This is the door the nice lady scoots behind to get out of view of the camera!

We walk outside to get some pictures of the decorations there. There is a beautiful view, no matter where we wander. A view walking down the steps from one of the porches toward the courtyard, with the lake in the background:

Before we leave, we take one more shot, looking back toward the inn. This one is a full shot of that gorgeous Christmas tree in the courtyard with the fabulous back porch and steps, draped with garland, in the background.
Now we are going to stroll on farther around the lake toward Disney's Beach and Yacht Clubs to see what exquisite treats are in store over there. Just about another brisk ten minutes away to Disney's Beach Club. It is a cloudy afternoon and this picture was taken just as we were rounding the bend.

If you enjoyed our visit to Disney's Boardwalk Inn, please come back to visit Disney's Beach Club at Christmas. If you fancy carousels and confectionery creations as much as me, then you are going to love what they have done over there for Christmas!
