Grow Your Blog

Have you heard about the "Grow Your Blog"party?  I will tell you all about it in this post but if you are new to my blog, then allow me introduce myself. My name is Lynn Cockrell and, among other things, I am a wife, mother and grandmother. The things I love most are God, my family and my friends and I enjoy spending time with all of them.

In addition, I enjoy crafting, sewing, reading and DIY. Visiting thrift stores is a favorite past-time of mine. It brings me satisfaction to take old or used items and give them new purpose and a chance to "live" again in the form of home design projects and/or gifts for family and friends.

I also love to travel though, as I have stated before, I am certainly not a world traveler. There are many places which I aspire to visit in the future and I have dreams of such wonderful and exciting destinations. My Pinterest boards are somewhat of a testament to those aspirations.

There are some places that I have visited many times over the years and that are very beloved by my family and I. These are the places that hold sweet memories of time well spent with loved ones. These places are just like old friends and I never tire of going back to visit them, again and again.

My little corner of Blog Land has opened up doors to meeting new and special people.and making some wonderful, talented and caring friends.  It has also been and continues to be an expressive outlet in which to share, through writing and photographs, some of the people, projects, places and experiences that are a part of my little world.

Now, it is my pleasure  to tell you about the party that will be taking place on January 25, 2014. I am excited  about it and I hope you will be joining in for the fun!

The sweet and talented Vicki, author of the blog  "2 Bags Full,"  is hosting a "Grow Your Blog" party for 2014. The party is taking place January 25, 2014. The party is designed to do exactly what the title implies "grow your blog!."  She hosted a similar party last year and it was a major success.

If you would like to increase your following and/or readership please join me as I visit over at Vicki's blog. Just click on the following link to go there: http://vicki-2bagsfull.blogspot.com/2013/10/grow-your-blog-2014-this-is-official.html. I have also placed her pretty "Grow Your Blog" badge on the sidebar of my blog. You should be able to go directly to the party and visit some of the blogs that are participating in the party by clicking on the picture.

It is not a requirement, but I have chosen to give a prize to the 10th visitor to leave a comment on my blog. If you win, you will receive a small gift, handmade by me. You do not have to have a blog, but if you win, you will need to provide a mailing address to which the gift can be delivered. For privacy's sake, you can contact me by e-mail, once I announce the winner. Vicki has chosen February 15, 2014 as the date for announcing the winners of the prizes.

You are so sweet to take the time to stop by here to visit with me and leave such sweet comments. It means so very much to me. You have been there for me, through the ins and outs of trying to learn how to make my humble little blog worthy of reading from time to time. You have given me some kind suggestions and a helping hand when I so obviously needed one.

You are a beautiful lady and a very special friend. I, too, honestly do hope that we will meet in person some day. Travel to Europe is on my "bucket list" of things to do, so believe me if I am ever going anywhere near Italy, I will be sure to let you know and I sincerely hope you will do the same if you come back to the U.S.

By the way, how is the weather where you are? We are expecting icy conditions and maybe even some snow here tomorrow.

Have a beautiful week, stay warm and happy!

I am so glad you stopped by my blog. I apologize for the late reply. We have a lot going on at my house as we are taking care of 3 of our grandchildren while their father is in the hospital and my daughter is with him.

I went over to pay a visit to your lovely blog and enjoyed so much learning more about you and your precious family. There did not seem to be a way to follow, but perhaps I missed it.

Thanks again for your visit and I hope you will have a blessed day!

Dear Wendi,

Please forgive me for being late in replying to your comment on my blog and for thanking you, not only for leaving your sweet comments, but especially for signing up to follow my blog. I am truly appreciative and grateful for your comments and following!

We have had a severe ice storm down here in S.C. and our power was out for some time and then, we had our daughter and her family staying with us for several days until their power was restored. Her husband, our son-in-law, has cancer and must have oxygen, so they were here until this afternoon, when they were able to go back to their home.

You may recall that when you read my Grow Your Blog post that I said I would be giving away something handmade, by me, to the 10th person to leave a comment. I published another post on 2/15/2014 and announced you as being the winner of the pendant and earring set which I made, especially for you. There are some pictures on the post, as well. Now, mind you, I am but a novice when it comes to making jewelry, but that fact never stops me from trying anything!

If you would like to accept the gift, I will need a mailing address of some kind to send it to you. I certainly understand privacy issues, but if you would like to send me an email at my g-mail address which you can find on my profile and you should be able to reach me directly from my profile. If you cannot do so, my g-mail address is mimilynn01@gmail.com.

If you do not wish to accept the gift, please let me know, so that I can give it to the next person who commented after you.

Have a blessed week! Again, thank you so very much!

Shauna,
I am trying to catch up on some of the comments left on my Grow Your Blog post. I really appreciate your coming by. I have visited your blog several times and your quilts are gorgeous. I thought I had signed up to follow you already with Google Friend Connect, but I cannot find my "mug" among your followers with Google Friend Connect. Perhaps I just overlooked it.Every time I try to sign up with GFC, I get an error, so I have also signed up with Bloglovin to follow you.

Have a beautiful weekend!
