There is Magic in the Kingdom at Christmas

Image
When posting about travel experiences, I strive to give you some idea of what these places are about and the things that can be seen and experienced there. Certainly, I cannot be called a world traveler and, in fact, many of you are probably much more experienced travelers than myself. Still, it is my sincere hope that when you visit here you will be able to step inside my little world and, perhaps, find something to enjoy in the places and things I feel so blessed to have experienced. Between now and Christmas, I will be continuing a series of posts from our recent trip to Walt Disney World. In the spirit of the season, these will be comprised mostly of photos of the different places(not the two of us)around Walt Disney World parks and resorts. My goal is to convey how beautifully things are decorated for the holidays. This post is about how things were and still are looking along Main Street and at Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  I begin wit...

An Unexpected Christmas- A Delightful Story and Video

Image
I was visiting Holly Lefevre at her blog 504 Main this afternoon and she had posted about the book An Unexpected Christmas  and she linked to the above video which I believe is a beautiful and innocent version of the Christmas story as seen through the eyes of children. If you are not familiar with Holly's blog, please take a moment to visit her at  http://www.504main.com/ . She is a mother, homemaker and fabulous blogger, as well. Her blog is one of my favorites!

The Spectacle at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Image
The week before Thanksgiving, we traveled down to a favorite spot, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The folks at Disney had really gotten into the swing of decorating for Christmas. As a matter of fact, they were continually decorating the whole time we were there and had about decked everything out by the time we headed back home. We arrived on Sunday afternoon. We had made plans to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios on Sunday night. We rode a few rides and when night time came, we walked around to the "Streets of America" to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights . The lights were the main reason we had gone to the park that evening. If you have ever had the opportunity to attend this awesome holiday event, you will know that there is a reason why it is called a spectacle. The lights do appear to be dancing and and it is truly nothing short of spectacular! If you would like to read more about the lights and how the Osborne family's Christmas lig...

The Inn at Christmas Place Celebrates Christmas All Year Round

Image
If you enjoy Christmas and all the beautiful decorations and traditions that the season brings, you would probably love the place I am posting about today. Christmas is celebrated all year long at The Inn at Christmas Place. You will find this charming inn in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and, most fittingly, at 119 Christmas Tree Lane in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. As I have said before, we love the Smokies and we try to visit there as often as possible. We have stayed at many places over the years, but since it was completed in 2007, The Inn at Christmas Place is, hands-down, our favorite place to stay. It is the perfect place to celebrate any special occasion, such as a honeymoon or wedding anniversary. Many people take their children there as a very special treat. Perhaps, you have heard of or visited The Incredible Christmas Place, which is a shop, really a collection of shops, located across the main highway(at 2470 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN). It offe...
