Mimi's Missing In Action And The Last Of Mam Maw's "Fandy" And Chocolate Kiss(Hug) Cookies

Dear Fellow Bloggers. You may have noticed I've been MIA for a while. I'm sending out a quick post to say I am presently trying to "give birth" to twin kidney stones(one for each kidney). I started having a lot of discomfort in my side back area a week or so ago and tried to ignore it, in hopes it would just go away. Friday afternoon, it became excruciating that my husband, my sweet daughters and I spent Friday night and into Saturday morning at the ER of Georgia Regents(more like a visit to a zoo on the weekend). Between the auto accident victims, domestic dispute casualties, flu patients--you get the idea, the doctors ran the exams and tests and determined the aforementioned condition. We were there for many hours. Believe me, if I had not been in pure agony, I would have given up and gone home. I'm not knocking the ER or anything, that is just the nature of a visit to any ER, I suppose. Needless to say, I am still in a lot of pain but just wanted to take a minute or two to touch base with you all. Please excuse any drug-induced or pain provoked comments or miss-spellings that are posted here.

I was able to try out a couple of Valentine's treat recipes that were posted on some fabulous blogs, before I was so incapacitated. Namely, Mam Maw's Fudge/Candy which I affectionately now call Mam Maw's Fandy from Audrey over at http://NeverendingDecorating.blogspot.comNeverendingdecorating.blogspot.com. As I told Audrey, Mam Maw knew what she was doing when she came up with that recipe. It is delicious! I also tried out Tracey's recipe for Chocolate Kiss Cookies at www.thekitchenismyplayground.com. Glenn(my husband and Valentine) and I have enjoyed both. My youngest grand-daughter, Rachel, helped me with the cookies and she had lots of fun doing that(wish I had taken a picture of her doing that.) We used Hershey Hugs, as Glenn and the grand-kids like those best. These batches were shared with my two daughters and their families, who ALL loved both treats!

This is a picture of the little bit that remains of the treats.

Folks, I am praying that the source of my agony will soon "pass," if you get my drift. I have a really great project to post. It is one that my BFF, Harriette, and I have been planning and creating for several weeks. We are going to have a tutorial on it. We are almost finished with the project, which is a large one, and are excited to get the finished project and tutorial posted!

God bless you all and have a lovely and blessed Sunday!

Lynn

Lynn, your kind note couldn't haven't come at a better time. My husband and I are at our daughter's home, Wiley-sitting, and I see first hand how young couples are juggling so many "activities" with their work, church and two year old. I'm keeping a journal for the times Wiley is with us - I know Katie will forget so many little things that she'll be glad to remember one day.

Thank you again for writing, and I hope your health problems are solved very quickly.

Cheryl, thank you for your sweet reply. What a wonderful idea, to keep a journal of these precious times! I haven't been keeping a journal, but I wish I had. I had always intended to do so, but somehow neglected to do it. I have 5 grands, total(2 boys,3 girls). The oldest grandchild, Glenn, named after my husband is 15--almost 16. One thing that my husband and I have done is take many pictures over the years. We adore our grandchildren and it is obvious that you do to.

Wendy, thanks again for stopping by. I am feeling much better today, but still have the stones. I don't know how long it is supposed to take, but I can tolerate it as long as the pain is not like it was last week.

Bless you,
Lynn
I'm feeling for you, pain = not nice at all! I hope it won't take long.
Happy news: I found a way so I can still be a follower on your blog, yay!

Hi Lynn! Do you feel better??

Oh, Lynn,
I'm hoping that the twins were delivered without complication or to much pain.
How you were able to bake is a miracle, but the results look yummy delicious! Feel better.
Big hugs,
Patti

I can hardly wait to post about our(my friend Harriette's and me)project. It is a pretty big undertaking but we are almost finished. I'm going over to her house some time this week, I hope, to finish up. Thanks again for stopping by.

Holly, it was so good of you to check on me. It was awful being out of commission. I find I really missed posting and not being able to read the posts of others as much as I had wanted to. I had been having some lower back pain for some time, but tried to ignore it. I tried out those recipes on Valentine's Day and the trouble started for real the following day. No fun at all.
Oh, Lynn, I was wondering why I hadn't seen you around much lately. I miss you! Hope you are feeling much better. I know that is really painful! Praying for complete healing for you!

Hello Lynn,

Thank you so much for your comment on my post.
At the day you signed in on my blog I didn't
find your blog, but now I signed in on yours too.
I'm so sorry to read that you haven't been doing
so well. I really hope that you're feeling better
right now. Do you know when you will have an operation?
Want you to know that I will be praying for you.

Blessings and hugs,

Wilma, thanks so much for visiting Mimi Mine and wishing me well. Thanks, also, for signing in to follow me, also. I am feeling better and not in much pain. Hopefully, there will not have to be any surgery and I am on antibiotics now. I will know more when I go back to my dr. in a couple of weeks.

Your prayers are very much appreciated!

Bless you,
